Golden week, or Ogun Shukan, is the longest national holidays in Japan. It starts from the Emperor's birthday and Showa day on April 29. It's followed by the Constitution Memorial Day that's celebrated on May 3rd, then Greenery Day on May 4th. The week ends on May 5th with the celebration of Children's Day. People take paid time off during these holidays. Some of them even go to other countries to spend this long vacation.
