Part 1: Vocabulary Words

1. before adverb/preposition [ bih-fawr, -fohr ]

in the past; in front of; ahead of
(前, まえ)

◼ Example: I always take a bath before going to bed.
◻ Note: What do you do before going to bed?

2. down adverb [ doun ]

from a higher to a lower position
(下, した)

◼ Example: He climbed down the ladder. 
◻ Note: Do you go down stairs to get to the kitchen?

3. teeth noun [ teeth ]

plural of tooth
(歯, は)

◼ Example: I brush my teeth every meal.
◻ Note: Do you brush your teeth every meal?

4. ear noun [ eer ]

body part we use for hearing
(耳, みみ)

◼ Example: I covered my ears because of the noise.
◻ Note: Are the elephant’s ears big or small?

5. face noun [ feys ]

the front part of the head
(顔, かお)

◼ Example: Her face turned red because of the sun.
◻ Note: Please touch your face.
