Japan is well-known for manufacturing and exporting automobiles. It is the home of famous car companies like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, Yamaha and Mitsubishi. Japanese business companies started the car industry in the middle to late 1910s. They started out by designing trucks, because at that time, the market for passenger vehicles in Japan was small. After many years, Japan was able to surpass the United States of America and became the first in auto-manufacturing.
