In most countries, men give women flowers and chocolates on this day. However, in countries like Japan and Korea, women are the ones who give presents to men. It's a good opportunity for women because Japanese women are usually shy to express their love or affection. However, men are supposed to return those presents to women on the 14th of March, which they call the White Day.
